wordless wednesday | eataly

Chris and I took a very needed and well deserved date night into NYC. On the way to dinner at Via Emilia, one of our favorites, we stopped at Mario Batali and Joe and Lidia Bastianich's Eataly. The photos really don't do it justice. We hope to spend much more time there in the near future.

I'm going tomorrow night! Your photos are a nice prelude. What do eat...what to eat...

I went last weekend. I loved all the amazing food. The only thing was that I did not like was how crowded it was made me a bit anxious. Also, I wish the eating areas were a bit more separate (with better lighting etc).

Ah, Eataly. How you conflict me so.

We went during its first weekend and both the husband and I wrote about our first impressions (it's a few posts back now), and maybe it was because my expectations were too high but I found it a bit...meh? Underwhelming? The food we bought was great, of course, but the shopping experience was less pleasant and the store less innovative than I was expecting.

We've been there one more time since and it was a little better, but maybe it's just a matter of going there at an off time like the middle of the week for a little aperitivi.

Your pictures capture the place so much better than mine did!

What a lovely and enticing place to spend some time! Your photo *tour* is beautiful.

I've never seen mushrooms for $25.00 a pound and had to look up exactly what Blue foot Mushrooms were and why so expensive. WOW!
